10 Signs That You Have A Strong Personality That Can Intimidate Others

Post navigation

Even though some people may assume that such a label is basically a polite way of saying that you’re loud, intolerable, dominant or an asshole, there is really a big difference between these and having a strong character.

Those people who have strong personality possess some character traits that other people find totally foreign or at times intimidating, you know that it is these qualities that make you who you are. They are what make you shine and show up to the crowd.

To know more about what’s behind the ‘strong personality’ label here are some of the signs that a person has a resilient character:

  • Opinionated and Convincing, But Not Big-headed

A person who has a strong personality knows their own mind and they aren’t easily swayed by the people around them. They enjoy deliberating matters of importance with people and are knowledgeable in debating their case. But despite this, they are also very happy to listen to the points of view that were made by other people. They don’t belittle them or come across as bigheaded in any way.

  • Being Decisive

Those who own a strong character weigh up the choices carefully, but they don’t get caught up so much that they suffer from paralysis by analysis. They trust their mind and instinct in making the correct decisions and find it unsatisfying when other people waste time mulling over.

  • Being Led By Reasons More Than Emotions

They may use their instinct to guide them, but they do so thanks to a very coherent approach in resolving problems. They do let their feelings have a say in how things get done, but most of the control is in the hands of the rational, information-based part of their brain.

  • They Stick To Their Morals and Philosophies

They know their stand and are passionately firm in the way they act on your beliefs. No one can persuade you to do something that they don’t feel right. Their morals dictate their actions and are not afraid to tell somebody when they are out of the line.

  • Not Overly Worried About Pleasing Other People

Instead of making an effort to keep everybody else on the side, people who possess strong character aren’t afraid to upset a few feathers if it would mean being their real self. They believe in their selves and they don’t ever feel the need to go out of their way just to impress or please other people.

They treat the people around them with respect. But then they are quite choosy about who they let into their inner circle. They haven’t got the energy or time to waste on people who just want them to agree all the time.

  • Knows What They Want In Life

Starting from a fairly young age, they’ve already had a strong sense of knowing which direction they’re headed in. As they grow older, they preserve a clear vision of what they want to accomplish in life and they don’t hesitate or believe it impractical no matter what difficulties cross their path.

  • Very Goal Oriented

Since they have their sights set resolutely on particular successes in life, they want to set interim goals to push them along their path at a rapid pace. They don’t stroll along and hope that one day their dreams will become a reality. They are knowledgeable about which steps they need to take and the concentrate on accomplishing these smaller goals in order to reach their desired destination.

  • Aren’t Dwelling On The Past

For them, what’s gone is gone and it doesn’t make sense to devote too much time thinking about it. They are much more concerned about what’s happening right now and how it is going to influence their future. Those future objectives mentioned spur them on in the present and they prefer directing your energy into the now rather than onto the past.

  • They Learn From Their Mistakes

Although they don’t like to look back on what’s already occurred, that does not mean that they don’t learn lessons from it. They are very capable of recognizing where things went crooked and acclimatizing their actions to stop it from happening again.

They find it difficult to understand people who go around in circles, repeating the same undesirable behaviors over and over again, despite that they swear each time will be the last.

  • Can Admit When They Are Wrong

They are not pig-headed enough to believe that they are always right – certainly, they could barely learn from their mistakes if they weren’t capable of acknowledging when they were wrong in the first place. When they commit wrongdoings to other people, they are quick to distinguish this and make an effort to recompense.

The aforementioned characteristics define and describe a strong personality and now that you’re aware of them, you can now recognize one when you meet a person who possesses it. Or perhaps, maybe you are now aware of your own strong personality and how it impacts your way of life.
